Elizabeth Lunde Holt (Betty) was born in Lake City in 1915 and graduated from Lincoln High School. Her parents were lifelong residents of the Lake City area.
Although Betty spent much of her life in Minneapolis, her love of family and passion for sailing often brought Betty, her children, and grandchildren to the Lake City community.
Betty’s only daughter, Ann, established a perpetual endowed scholarship in her memory in 2016. The scholarship honors Betty and her family to whom the Lake City community prominently, significantly, and warmly played an importance in their lives.
Betty is best remembered for her keen intellect, love of life, warm smile, and graciousness. She brought laughter, joy and happiness to her family and many friends throughout her life.
The Lake City Education Foundation is honored to manage and award the $1,000 scholarship on behalf of Ann and Betty’s beloved family.
Students interested in applying for the scholarship should contact Jessica Holst, Senior High School Counselor.
